TriMac Engineering is currently seeking a senior mechanical, electrical, civil, or structural  engineer to be a key team member and will have the opportunity to leave their mark on the company as we expand into the Halifax market. Job Description: Function as a key member of the TriMac Engineering team as we expand into the Halifax market.  Assist in assembling a top-notch Halifax-based multidiscipline team to execute projects on time and on budget for our clients and to support the existing Sydney team as required. Lead engineering projects for the company from concept stage to final commissioning and inspection. Lead the project design of your engineering discipline and supervise and manage multidiscipline teams in successfully executing projects. Coordinate projects with clients, architects and contractors. Draft technical specifications and reports for project execution. Assess life cycle costs of various systems. Participate in worksite construction inspections of work and generate deficiency reports. Provide support to technical personnel. Travel to job sites individually and with other staff to gather relevant design data, take measurements and to inspect work performed by contractors and prepare construction inspection/deficiency reports.  Occasional overnight travel to remote locations and Sydney office will be required. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering Degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering from an accredited university. Registered P.Eng. with Engineers Nova Scotia. 12+ years of mechanical, electrical, civil or structural engineering technical work experience and project management experience including development of design packages for construction. Required technical experience for mechanical engineer: experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.  This includes HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, building automation systems, and specialized building services. Required technical experience for electrical engineer: experience in the design of electrical systems for commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.  This includes low voltage distribution, lighting, security, fire alarm and structured wiring systems. Required technical experience for civil/earthworks/municipal engineer: experience in the design of civil/municipal works and infrastructure such as roads/highways, urban water/wastewater systems, water/wastewater treatment facilities, earthworks/landscapes, and/or site servicing. Required technical experience for structural engineer: experience in the design of commercial, institutional and industrial building structures, bridges, etc. using spreadsheet-based calculations and industry standard design tools. Working knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, building, electrical, plumbing and fire codes and regulations; dependent upon engineering discipline. Class 5 driver’s license and use of own vehicle; some travel required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to successfully lead a multidiscipline team in executing projects under pressure and tight deadlines.
