Heavy Duty Mechanics – Fly-In-Fly-Out

About the Client and Role

Our customer is a rising Iron Ore operation with a base of mining operations in Baffin Island, Nunavut. We are on the chase for an accomplished Heavy Duty Mechanic for a full-time changeless necessity as a component of the Mobile Maintenance Department at their best in class mine office. This is a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) office with a 2 week on/2 week off pivot and will require day and night shifts.

We are searching for those people with a solid hard working attitude and a decent business track-record. This part gives specialized support and drilling to help the division and the organization to endeavor to accomplish their objectives of “ZERO HARM”.

Key duties regarding this part will include:

Investigate and repair of substantial obligation and medium obligation mining hardware, for example, dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, forklifts, slip steers, telehandlers, and so forth., by CAT, Sandvik, Tamrock and numerous others.

The dismantling/update of motors or motor parts, transmissions, drive frameworks segments and different gatherings

The analysis of hardware issues; recognizing and supplanting worn or broken parts as required, and making every fundamental change and arrangements

Deterrent support

Keeping the shop clean

Different obligations as required

The perfect hopeful will have the accompanying capabilities:

A substantial Heavy Equipment Technician License with at least 5 years’ involvement in repair and administration of overwhelming hardware both in the shop and in the field

Demonstrated reputation in safe work practices and quality workmanship

Capacity to work alone and unsupervised in remote ranges

Engaged, vivacious and composed with better consideration than detail and a feeling of earnestness

Fabulous investigating and demonstrative abilities

Roused and dedicated with an expert state of mind

Capacity to comprehend and execute oral and composed guidelines and to decipher specialized manuals and details

Dialect: talk, read and compose English (learning of Inuktitut would be an advantage)

Past experience working in cruel Arctic temperatures an advantage

Past mining knowledge is an advantage
